What is the best online stock trading website? Why?

Shepaeo asked:

I’m looking to start trading some of my stock online because of the convenience. I want to know what is the best site. I want cheap trades, ease of use, and just a little advice. Let me hear what you think.

Best bet for new investors;
Charles Schwab or Fidelity Investments.

If you want cheap trades with mediocre tools and some support;
Scottrade

If you want cheap trades with great support & great tools;
ThinkOrSwim
(Only if you’ve got 3-5 years of very active trading experiance, not geared to the novice).

explore in scottrade.com and look for a demo on their application named scottrader. It’s not hard to use. There is a very low minimum required to open an account. Almost anybody can invest on it.

If you decide to stay with scottrade you can use the scottrade referral code provided below, and you will receive 3 free online trades!

Use this ReferALL coupon code: LJEN3956

I use Scottrade but there are many of them out there to try from. Its free to open an account and I believe a $500 minimum initial investment is required. This way you can make all your own investment decisions and use the tools and reports provided by Scottrade. All the online dealers have different rates, but Scottrade only charges $7 per transaction so you never have to worry about what you will be charged.

If you open an account and use: PVMI2081 as your referral code, you will get 3 free trades to start with. Here is a link to their web site:
