If you have two online broker accounts for stock trading, can you day trade in both accounts?

meh asked:

For example, if you have less than 25k in both accounts, you are only allowed to do 3 day trades in a 5 day period. Can you get around this by having 2 accounts?

Each account is treated separate. You cannot combine margin using multiple accounts even at the same firm.

Create a video blog…instantly.

Yes as long at the accounts are titled differently IE individual, joint, trust etc. You would be able to do 6 day trades, 3 in each account, if you had two seperate accounts.
